Recapping the AWS Community Summit Manchester 2025

Steamhaus was thrilled to sponsor the AWS Community Summit (ComSum) in Manchester on the 25th September 2025.

Last month, the team had a fantastic time at the AWS Community Summit Manchester - the energy at Victoria Warehouse was buzzing as over 650 people attended this year. The annual conference has been bringing AWS professionals together since 2019, as the largest independent one-day event for the AWS community in the UK.

It was brilliant to connect with so many members of this network, share insights, and discuss the latest in cloud innovation. The ComSum team put together a great highlight reel which encapsulates it!

In this workshop, our team explored how using Spec-Driven Development with Kiro can simplify complex application design. The session highlighted practical techniques for accelerating development while maintaining consistency and quality across projects.

Architecture + GenAI: Better Together for Modernising Complex Apps

This popular session delved into how to leverage Generative AI when modernising complex legacy applications. The speakers shared architectural best practices for integrating GenAI to make modernisation projects smarter, faster, and more effective.

Step On It! Rapid Event-Based AWS Cost Control With Step Functions

Speaker: Damien Jones (Steamhaus)

Damien shared his expertise in cloud finance, demonstrating how to use AWS Step Functions to implement rapid, event-based cost controls. This session provided actionable strategies for managing costs dynamically and maintaining fiscal efficiency in a modern cloud environment.
